Welcome to the Unexpected Career Podcast, where we share stories of real people and the twists and turns they have taken along their career journey. And we are back for season two, starting next week on May 27th, with more stories of unexpected careers and how my guests have made decisions along the way. Most careers involve detours, pit stops, and surprisingly often a whole new direction. So I love hearing and sharing these stories, and I'm inspired by every single guest, and I think you will be too. You can go back and listen to season one if you haven't already and hear a few sneak peeks from season two.

Rachel:

it made me realize that yeah, I need to understand what i'm passionate about and what actually gives me drive what brings me forward and it was such an eye opening experience to me that I'd had such a good time with these kids that I actually could, I could channel that and go forward with that.

Kelsey:

was like, whoa, I didn't even know all these professions existed, but how cool that these people are doing really well in these different paths. So talk to people. Be open, get to know yourself, and don't rush into thinking that your life's career has to start at 25 years old.

Dylan:

if you do something, maybe from a side hustle or part time to you doing it full time, it's a complete different world, complete different because you're going to see all the positives, you're going to see all the negatives, in that you may not see just doing part time or doing evenings.

Christine:

It was also following the pattern of me getting a little antsy and itch to learn something because that's been the other, common thread is love of learning is really do learning new things.

Howard:

In the real world as we'll, say, sales for me is the best job there is. And you know why? Because you get to find out cool stuff about cool things from cool people all the time. Mm-hmm. And that's just really interesting. Right.

See you next week.
